Finding the Edvidence free training sessions
We’re offering staff free training sessions on how to search online healthcare information resources.
You’ll learn skills in searching the healthcare databases included in NHS Evidence & you’ll be able to find information to support your evidence-based practice or cpd requirements.
Sessions are being held in the dedicated training rooms at the Frank Curtis Library at Hellesdon Hospital, the Resource Centre at Northgate Hospital and the library training room at St Clements Hospital.
The first sessions will run on the following dates:
Friday 10th May 10.00-12.00 Frank Curtis Library, Norwich
Tuesday 14th May 10.00-12.00 St Clements Hospital, Ipswich
Wednesday 22nd May 2.00-4.00 St Clements Hospital, Ipswich
Thursday 23rd May 2.00-4.00 Frank Curtis Library, Norwich

Try out the Social Policy and Practice database
We have been given a two month trial of Social Policy and Practice, a specialist database offering one-stop access to evidence-based research information drawn from five key organisations:
• Centre for Policy on Ageing
• Greater London Authority
• Idox information service
• National Children’s Bureau
• Social Care Institute for Excellence
The database contains over 300,000 abstracts and records of journal articles, books and research reports covering social policy, public health, social services and mental and community health. To access the database login with your Athens password and select the database at the bottom of the resources list. If you do not have an Athens password register here.
