Course Details
Learn how to find journal articles and other evidence to support your studies, work or CPD. This introductory course focuses on searching healthcare databases such as Medline, PsycINFO and CINAHL.

Aimed at:             All NHS staff who wish to gain skills in searching healthcare databases
Duration:             2-2.5 hours
Pre-requisites:     Participants must register for an NHS Athens account

Outcomes:
             

By the end of the session participants will be able to:

·         Select the most appropriate database for your search
·         Formulate a search strategy
·         Conduct searches using keywords and phrases
·         Combine searches using Boolean operators i.e. AND/OR/NOT
·         Limit results
·         View abstracts
·         Access full-text articles
·         Print, save or email your results
·         Save and retrieve a search strategy
·         Create an alert
